Eat Less, Run More...Live Forever?

Two studies showing that Restricting calories, and running long distances every week can slow down the aging process. I guess I'm just a star that burns bright right now. Maybe someday I'll eat less and run more, but for now I'll lift things and eat meat because thats what I like to do. Don't get me wrong, I eat very healthy (read: lots of veggies with my meat) and am not exactly a big guy; I doubt I'll be dieting right away though. From the calorie restriction article : "...side effects include reduced libido because calorie restriction reduces testosterone levels. They also tend to become cold more quickly because their thermal regulation changes as their metabolism slows and their core body temperature drops."

Some people really shouldn't reduce their calories anymore

While I'm not exactly a long distance runner either, I've been known to enjoy the occasional jaunt about the park with friends. I've even been tricked into running farther than I knew before as well. Right now, though it doesn't fit my performance goals, but I'm happy to see my clients accumulating a healthy and enjoyable milage each week. Running is an awesome way to stay fit for most, and it appears it will keep you and your DNA young.

The best thing about these articles is there's enough biology for your inner dork to get excited about. Enjoy!
